KidsFest 2015

News article posted on 22 September, 2015

Over 2,000 people wandered through the joint RiverConnect and Parks Victoria tent to discover the local animals and bugs we have living on the Goulburn River floodplain.

Kids of all ages took the opportuinity to get up close with nature in the joint RiverConnect, Parks Victoria and Greater Shepparton City Council tent at KidsFest this year.

Decked out in cammo netting and gum tree limbs, the nature tent featured birds nests and gall growths, live spiders and bugs, Ranger Roo colouring in competitions, native taxidermy animals and native plant give aways. Solar bugs were also popular for those not so comfortable with their live cousins and parents were able to find out about the Organics Waste program roll out.

Council, Landcare and Parks Victoria staff were kept busy sharing their knowledge with children and parents over the two day event.

Thanks to all those who helped over the weekend and thanks to KidsTown for putting on another great KidsFest event.
